Which package is right for me?
Most couples who jointly own property, have children, or want protection from care fees will find the Protection package the best fit — it is our most commonly selected option. If your estate is more complex, or you want maximum flexibility for your trustees, the Complete Estate Plan may be more appropriate. If your situation is straightforward, Essentials covers the core documents every couple needs.

What you get for £3,735 — why this fee is justified
The Complete Estate Plan is our most comprehensive package. Here is what the fee covers — and why it represents strong value for a complex estate:
Two professionally drafted wills with Property Protection Trust
Each will is individually drafted by a qualified solicitor. We take the time to understand your family — your circumstances, your relationships, and the plan behind the will — before a word is written.
Severance notice registered at HM Land Registry
We prepare and register the notice of severance, converting your ownership from joint tenants to tenants in common — a legal requirement for the PPT to work.
Discretionary trust — maximum flexibility for your trustees
Unlike a fixed trust, a discretionary trust lets your trustees respond to changing family circumstances — protecting assets from divorce, creditors, or a vulnerable beneficiary without locking in a rigid outcome.
Trustee letter of wishes
A confidential letter guiding your trustees on how you would like them to exercise their discretion — who should benefit, in what proportions, and in what circumstances.
Four lasting powers of attorney (both partners)
Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare LPAs for both of you — drafted, witnessed, and submitted to the Office of the Public Guardian. Without these, your family may need a Court of Protection order.
Supervised signing and witnessing
A solicitor supervises the execution of every document — ensuring your wills and LPAs are legally valid and cannot be challenged on procedural grounds.
Secure document storage — indefinitely
Your original wills and LPAs are stored securely at our Chester office at no ongoing charge. We notify your executors and attorneys on request.
What it protects against
- Care fees — the PPT ring-fences the first partner's share of the home on first death
- Remarriage — the survivor's new partner cannot inherit your children's share
- Divorce — the discretionary trust protects beneficiaries' shares from their own relationship breakdown
- Creditors — trust assets are harder for creditors to reach than outright inheritances
- Vulnerable beneficiaries — trustees can manage distributions rather than handing over a lump sum
These services would cost £4,150 bought separately. The package saves £415.
