Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessibility
PDA Law Solicitors Limited is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
We believe that everyone should be able to access legal information and contact our firm without barriers. We continually review and improve our website to maintain and enhance its accessibility.
WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance
We have designed and built this website with reference to the four core principles of WCAG 2.1:
- Perceivable — Information and user interface components are presented in ways that users can perceive, including through assistive technologies such as screen readers.
- Operable — All functionality is available from a keyboard and users have sufficient time to read and use content.
- Understandable — Information and the operation of the user interface is clear and consistent, with error messages that help users correct mistakes.
- Robust — Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies, including screen readers and voice recognition software.
We are working towards full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance. Where we identify areas that fall short of this standard, we prioritise remediation as part of our ongoing development programme.
Accessibility Features of This Website
This website includes the following accessibility features:
Navigation and Structure
- A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
- All pages have a descriptive and unique
<title>element to help users identify where they are. - Headings are used in a logical, hierarchical order (
h1throughh3) to aid navigation with screen readers. - Landmark regions (
header, main, nav, footer) are used throughout to support assistive technology navigation. - All navigation menus include appropriate ARIA labels.
Text and Readability
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- We use a minimum body text size of 16px to support readability.
- Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- We do not rely on colour alone to convey information.
- Plain English is used throughout, with legal terms explained where necessary.
Images and Media
- All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text (
altattributes). - Decorative images are marked with empty
altattributes so screen readers can ignore them. - Icons used alongside text are marked as decorative where the adjacent text provides the same information.
Forms and Interactive Elements
- All form fields have associated visible labels.
- Required fields are clearly indicated.
- Error messages are descriptive and linked to the relevant field.
- All interactive elements are accessible by keyboard and display a visible focus indicator.
- Buttons and links have descriptive accessible names.
Keyboard and Assistive Technology Support
- The entire website can be navigated using a keyboard alone.
- Focus order follows a logical sequence that matches the visual layout.
- The website has been tested with common screen readers including NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS).
- ARIA roles and attributes are used where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
Responsive Design
- The website is fully responsive and adapts to all screen sizes, from mobile phones to large desktop monitors.
- Content reflows at 320px width without horizontal scrolling, supporting users who zoom or use small screens.
- Touch targets meet minimum size requirements for mobile users.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, there may be some areas of the website that do not yet fully meet this standard. Known limitations include:
- Third-party content — Some embedded content provided by third-party services (such as enquiry forms and review widgets) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with our suppliers to improve accessibility and seek alternatives where necessary.
- PDF documents — Older PDF documents on this website may not be fully accessible. If you require an accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.
We are actively working to address these limitations and will update this statement as improvements are made.
