Employment Law in Wales — The Same Rights as England
Employment law is not devolved to the Welsh Government. The Employment Rights Act 1996, Equality Act 2010, and the Employment Tribunal system apply equally across England and Wales. If you work in Wrexham, Flintshire, Deeside or anywhere in North Wales, you have exactly the same employment rights as someone working in Chester, Manchester or London.
Employment Tribunal claims for employees in Wales are heard at the Cardiff or Wrexham Employment Tribunal. The same rules, time limits and procedures apply as in England. The 3-month time limit for most claims runs from the same starting point — the date of dismissal or the act complained of.
We advise North Wales employees on all employment law matters — from settlement agreements and unfair dismissal to discrimination claims and Tribunal representation. Our Chester office is easily accessible from North Wales via the A55 and A483, and we offer a full remote service by phone, video call and email.
